A Parent's Warning: Our GlassesUSA Nightmare of Wrong Prescriptions and Ghost Customer Service 😡
I need to share my terrible online shopping experience to warn other parents. We ordered glasses for our son, and the whole process turned into a complete nightmare, forcing me to leave a review and try desperately to contact customer service. My overall feeling about this company is best summarized by what I wrote in my original post: We ordered a pair of glasses for our 12-year-old after he found them using the virtual try-on, but he said he had trouble seeing with them. We went back to the doctor to check everything, and he informed us that the pupil distance (PD) was incorrect. The glassesusa site does not prompt you to provide the PD number, and if you don’t know to provide it, they will just assume a value. Please know you will never be able to reach a human at glassesusa and have a real phone conversation if you call them, so plan on frustration if your glasses are not correct. Email interactions are too slow, causing the process to drag on. The glasses, once remade, are working out well for us.
Customer: I have been trying to reach a person for days! You sent my son glasses with the wrong pupil distance because your site never asked for it. He can’t see out of them!
CS Rep: I am so sorry to hear about the issue with your son's glasses and the difficulty you've had contacting us. I can definitely help you get this corrected. Can I have your order number, please?
Customer: It’s [order number]. The emails are too slow. Every time I get a reply, it’s a different person and I have to explain everything all over again. It’s incredibly frustrating.
CS Rep: I completely understand your frustration, and I apologize for that experience. I will personally handle your remake. I'm sending a pre-paid return label to your email now. Once you send the incorrect pair back, we will immediately start making the new ones with the correct PD.
Customer: And how long will that take? My son needs his glasses. You realize we have to send them back first, leaving him with nothing while we wait for you to fix your mistake.
CS Rep: I understand the urgency. I will put a rush on the lab order. We will begin production the same day we receive the return tracking information. I will also monitor the order myself and keep you updated via email.
The reason I left this review on the website is to hopefully prevent other parents from going through the same frustrating ordeal.
